There are legends that this area had been ruled by Butanese emperors and serve as a forward post or the Bhutanese army. Morgan House

Morgan House

Morgan House represents the colonial vibe of kalimpong. It was a mansion built by Mr. and Mrs. Morgan. The cultural significance of Morgan House is it is an ideal example of colonial architecture of the British Raj in west Bengal. There is a legend of this mansion being haunted by spirits, which make it even more attractive among curious visitors. Presently it has been converted into a lodge by West Bengal Tourism Development.

Durpin Dara Hill

Durpin Dara is a snow-covered mountain range located among the Himalayan ranges. It offers a beautiful panoramic view of West Sikkim and Kalimpong town. A stunning view of Teesta river and its valley can be seen from this mountain top town. There is a golf course and botanical garden in Kalimpong. Famous Zang Dhok Palri Monastery is situated in Kalimpong.

The Pine View Nursery or more commonly known as Cactus Nursery is situated in the proximity of Teesta River bank. Kalimpong Cactus Nursery is the largest cacti collection of Asia. Wide varieties of cactus species made this huge greenhouse look so amazing and thus attract tourists’ attention. Deolo Hill

Deolo Hill

Deolo Hill is one of the major attractions of Kalimpong for its stunning view. Located 6500 feet above sea level Deolo Hill offers a all rounding view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The little Kalimpong town looks gorgeous from here. There are certain viewpoints in Deolo from where sunset and sun rising look heavenly. This is an ideal place for photography lovers. Deolo is also very popular among tourists for its paragliding school.

Mangal Dham

Kalimpong is the place of multi-cultural conjugation. There are several Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries and churches situation in Kalimpong. One of its beautiful instances is Mangal Dham. It is a temple devoted to Lord Krishna. The temple is surrounded with lush green garden and a sanctuary.
